DENTAL ASSISTANT

Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment before and after dental procedures.

Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and ensure infection control standards.

Prepare dental materials and take impressions, X-rays, and photographs as required.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).

Ensure the dental operatory is clean, safe, and well-stocked.

Provide chairside support and ensure patient comfort and safety.

Collaborate effectively with dentists and other members of the dental team.

NVQ Level 4 in Dental Surgery Assistant or equivalent qualification.

Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) as a Dental Surgery Assistant is an added advantage.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a dental clinic or hospital (fresh candidates may also apply).

Good knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and infection control.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team and under pressure.

Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
